Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze patients’ charts carefully and verifies documentation supports diagnoses, procedures and treatment results. Assign codes to diagnoses using ICD-10-CM codes following the PDGM guidelines by CMS. Ensure codes and OASIS items are accurate, scored, and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations. Verify OASIS and plan of care of information is supported by valid and approved documentation. Remain up to date about new coding rules as codes change from time to time Manage detailed, specifically coded information. Maintain patient confidentiality and information security. Ensure that all codes are current and accurate. Meet daily Coding, OASIS, and Plan of Care (POC) review assignments. Ensure that Coding, OASIS, and POC documentation is clinically accurate while providing support throughout the review process.
