This position will start off as part-time and will eventually be full-time.

Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and business-savvy Web Designer & Developer who excels at working with template-based websites on platforms like WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user experience (UX), design principles, and business needs to create high-quality, functional, and visually appealing websites.

This is not just a technical role. We need a self-starter who can think critically about what a business needs and take initiative without waiting for step-by-step instructions. The right person will be able to customize templates, optimize layout and functionality, integrate necessary plugins, and use AI tools to assist with content creation.

Key Responsibilities
· Customize and build business websites using pre-designed templates on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace
· Ensure websites include essential business pages (Home, Services, Contact, About, etc.) and relevant features based on the business model
· Optimize layout, structure, and design for a clean and intuitive user experience
· Implement plugins, integrations, and tools that enhance business functionality (e.g., booking systems, payment gateways, lead forms)
· Ensure mobile responsiveness, SEO best practices, and speed optimization
· Utilize AI tools to assist with website copy and content generation
· Make data-driven recommendations for site improvements based on business objectives
· Work independently, problem-solve, and think like a business owner when making design and functionality choices
· Stay up to date with website trends, AI tools, and business technology

· Has an eye for design and user experience—can make templates look polished and professional
· Problem solver who thinks ahead and makes smart business-focused decisions
· Works independently and doesn’t need every detail spelled out
· Comfortable using AI tools to assist with content writing and workflow automation
· Can suggest business-friendly features that improve conversions and customer engagement

Requirements
· 2+ years of experience designing and managing template-based websites
· Proficiency in WordPress (Elementor), Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace
· Strong understanding of business website needs (lead generation, eCommerce, booking systems, service-based layouts)
· Experience working with plugins, themes, and integrations (no custom coding needed)
· Basic knowledge of SEO, site optimization, and mobile-friendly design
· Experience using AI-powered tools for content generation
· Familiarity with business tools like CRM integrations, scheduling tools, and eCommerce platforms
· Strong communication skills and ability to take initiative

Nice-to-Have (Not Required, but a Plus!)
· Knowledge of sales funnels and landing page optimization
· Experience setting up email marketing integrations (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, etc.)
· Familiarity with automation tools like Zapier
