Virtual Legal Assistant / Paralegal – 9AM to 5PM EST Required

Our Virtual Legal Assistant/Paralegal team is stronger than ever, and we are currently looking to add additional staff to support our growing team of attorneys. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, a self-starter, and will be very detail-oriented.
Necessary Experience: we are looking for candidates with remote paralegal or legal assistant experience with a US-based firm. We will provide all the training you need specific to our firm’s processes and systems. We are a very tech-forward firm so it is imperative that all candidates are comfortable with learning new technologies and actively utilizing those tools in their day-to-day.
Nice to Have: although not required for the role, experience as an attorney in the Philippines or possession of a Juris Doctor degree or Bachelor of Laws is a definite plus.
Responsibilities Include:
-Tracking deadlines and ensuring deadlines are met
-Correctly coding and saving electronically filed documents into our system
-Communicating regularly with and providing case updates to our clients
-Keeping matters current in our system (for example, updating facts and ensuring that client and employer information is correct)
-Scheduling Depositions/ Arranging for Court Reporters/ Sending out Meeting Info
-Scheduling Deposition prep with clients
-Scheduling Meetings for attorneys
-Onboarding clients in our client portal
-Generating complaints from our automated system
-Locating and interviewing witnesses
-Gathering electronic records
-Drafting EEOC Charges
-Calculating damages
-Drafting complaints
-Coordinating Service of Complaints
-Electronically filing litigation documents
-Drafting deposition notices and Subpoenas
-Drafting and responding to discovery
-Reviewing and analyzing discovery responses, creating database
-Supplementing discovery
-Setting up mediations and preparation meetings
-Preparing electronic mediation notebooks
-Preparing electronic deposition notebooks
-Contacting and subpoenaing witnesses for trial
-Drafting non-dispositive motions, such as for extensions of time or leaves of absence
-Providing remote trial support
-Shelling documents
-Gathering lost wage information
-Tracking job searches
-Filing documents with the court and communicating with opposing counsel
-Entering case expenses
-Closing cases
-Other kinds of research and data gathering
