Job Title: Video Editor
Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM EST

Position Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Video Editor who understands how to create content that performs. This role goes beyond trimming footage. We want someone who knows how to structure videos for attention and retention, brings creative energy to the edit, and stays on top of current trends and platform algorithms.
Key Responsibilities
? Edit weekly long-form YouTube videos (5–15 minutes) for pacing, clarity, and viewer retention
? Create 3–5 short-form video clips per long-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and LinkedIn
? Add text overlays, captions, transitions, music, and hooks to match current platform trends
Edit with storytelling and retention in mind. Remove dead space, reorder sequences, and guide viewer flow
? Work from transcripts, timestamps, and team direction while also applying editorial judgment
? Stay up to date on short-form video trends, formats, and audio
? Collaborate with the team to support publishing timelines, launches, and creative direction
? Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting set deadlines
? Handle various activities and set priorities for assigned responsibilities
Qualifications
? 2+ years of experience editing video for online brands, content creators, or businesses
? Strong portfolio of both long-form YouTube videos and short-form content that highlights pacing, structure, and performance
? Solid understanding of platform-specific formats, timing, and algorithmic preferences (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, etc.)
? Strong creative judgment and ability to follow brand tone and direction
? Familiarity with YouTube SEO (titles, thumbnails, CTAs) is a plus
? Reliable, communicative, organized, and proactive
? Comfortable using transcripts, AI tools, and JIRA-based workflows
Tools We Use
? Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Descript
? Dropbox for asset management
? Confluence for direction, SOPs, and collaboration
