Video Editor

The Video Goat LLC is looking for a reliable, detail-focused Video Editor to help create meaningful family videos from home footage, vacation memories, and old tapes. This is not a job for making TikToks, Reels, or any kind of short social media videos. Please only apply if you have experience editing longer videos that tell a full story.

This job is about emotional storytelling. You will review hours of family footage—sometimes from phones and sometimes from digitized tapes—and organize the best Upgrade to see actual infonts into a smooth, fun video. You aim to help families relive special times like a vacation, a child’s early years, or a loved one’s legacy. These videos are often between 5 and 15 minutes long and should feel like a real movie, not a short highlight reel.

You will edit videos using software like DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro. You’ll manage photo and video files, communicate with clients by email, and follow our team's instructions. Sometimes, families provide details to help tell the story, but you will often make creative choices independently, so good judgment is crucial.

Apply only if you:
- Have edited at least 3 longer-form videos (5–15 minutes) that tell a cohesive story (not social media clips).
- Are comfortable working independently with minimal creative direction.
- Can work with large amounts of family video footage, including potentially outdated or low-res formats.
- Have access to DaVinci Resolve, FCPX, Adobe Premiere Pro, or another professional desktop software (we do not use CapCut or phone apps).
- Are willing to take a short test edit before hiring.
- Can meet tight turnaround times
