Position: Gig, Part-time to Full-time with potential for growth.
Compensation: Quarterly commission. Monetary compensation for the top 3 finalists in our editing interview competition.

Location: Remote (Work from Home)

Role Overview
As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the production director. You should have expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts, and work according to a strict time schedule. A top-notch video editor can perfectly translate a director's idea into a beautifully crafted film or video piece, worthy of broadcasting.


Responsibilities
- Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Take a brief to grasp the production team’s needs and specifications
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects
- Create rough and final cuts
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
- Edit raw footage content and cut video sequences to ensure that concepts are translated effectively
- Review all edited tapes to identify any issues and recommend changes as required
- Organize and manage all audio and video assets to ensure a smooth workflow
- Collaborate with creative teams and clients to understand video project requirements
- Stay updated with industry trends and editing techniques
- Optimize video content for different platforms and audience preferences



Requirements and Skills
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software (Capcut, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity
- Familiarity with compositing
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- Ability to work to a tight schedule
- Ability to translate ideas into complete projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to final delivery by meeting deadlines collaboratively and independently
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Understanding of color grading, audio mixing, and video output formats
