Supply and Demand Analyst – Job Description
Overview:
A Supply and Demand Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal inventory levels across various sales channels, including Amazon, and other e-commerce platforms. This role requires expertise in analyzing purchase orders (POs), transfers, and forecasting demand trends to optimize supply chain operations. The analyst works closely with sales, operations, and logistics teams to maintain a balance between supply and demand while minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.

Key Responsibilities and functions:
1. Amazon PO Analysis:
• Analyze historical and current sales data and market trends to predict future demand.
• Review and analyze Amazon’s purchase orders (POs) to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and stock availability.
• Monitor Amazon’s Sales velocity and adjust supply plans accordingly.
2. Amazon Transfers & Fulfillment:
• Track and analyze inventory movement to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Work with Amazon’s demand planning tools to adjust transfer strategies and optimize replenishment cycles.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s inventory requirements and operational standards.
4. Inventory Management & Optimization:
• Monitor stock levels across Amazon, WFS and Castle Gate channels to ensure optimal inventory turnover.
• Develop strategies to prevent out-of-stock situations while minimizing excess inventory.
• Utilize data-driven insights to recommend inventory allocation strategies.
• Work with logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and transfers.
6. Reporting & Data Analysis:
• Generate reports on inventory levels, sell-through rates, and supply chain performance.
• Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for data analysis.
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supply chain efficiency.
