Job Description:

Review and edit news stories, articles, and letters before publication.
Ensure content adheres to correct grammar, spelling, house style, and tone.
Verify factual accuracy and ensure content is suited to the target audience.
Maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

Edit and proofread content from journalists or writers to eliminate spelling, grammatical, and factual errors.
Rewrite articles where necessary for improved clarity, flow, or readability.
Ensure adherence to the house style and editorial guidelines.
Craft or refine headlines to be accurate, engaging, and impactful.
Write 1-2 liners standfirsts or summaries that complement headlines and enhance readability.
Collaborate with writers, reporters, and editors to verify facts and refine story details.
Ensure content complies with copyright, libel, and ethical journalism standards.
Stay updated on current events and industry developments.
