Job Overview: Website Designer (Part-Time, Long-Term)
$5–$8/hour | 20 hours/week | Work Remotely
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Website Designer to build and manage professional, visually appealing, and user-friendly websites — primarily on Squarespace. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) role with the potential for long-term collaboration and growth.
You’ll start by helping to create a site for a personal brand, then expand into building landing pages and niche services for an established business that’s been around for over 20 years. If you have a sharp eye for design, strong Squarespace experience, and are comfortable working directly with the business owner to bring content to life — this is the role for you!
Who You Are:
-Experienced – You’ve been building and designing Squarespace sites for at least 2–3 years, ideally for U.S.-based small business owners.
-Design-Focused – You know what looks good and can translate content into polished, engaging pages without relying solely on templates.
-Independent but Collaborative – You can take direction and run with it but are also comfortable working directly with the business owner to align on content and goals.
-Versatile – While Squarespace is the main focus, familiarity with Shopify and social media design is a bonus.
-Organized and Detail-Oriented – You can handle multiple projects and stay on top of deadlines without needing micromanagement.
What You'll Do:
-Design & Develop: Build and maintain Squarespace websites, starting with a personal brand project and expanding into landing pages for niche services.
-Content Integration: Work with the owner to translate ideas and content into effective, visually appealing pages.
-Visual Design: Use tools like Canva (or similar) to create graphics for the website, landing pages, and marketing materials like downloadable guides or social media assets.
-SEO & Performance: Ensure pages are fast, optimized, and easy to navigate.
-E-Commerce Support: Occasionally help with Shopify updates and product listings.
-(Future Possibility): Depending on fit and interest, there may be opportunities to assist with social media content and graphics down the road — but the core focus is website design.
Requirements:
-Squarespace Expertise: At least 2–3 years of experience building Squarespace sites.
-Design Skills: Strong understanding of design principles, layout, and aesthetics.
-Technical Skills: Basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a bonus but not required.
-Communication: Ability to work independently while collaborating directly with the owner.
-Experience with U.S. Clients: Experience working with small business owners is a plus.
-Availability: Work on your own schedule but be available for quick check-ins between 12 PM – 5 PM (Mountain Time) a few times per week.
What We Offer:
-Part-Time & Long-Term: 20 hours/week of consistent work with potential for growth.
-Competitive Pay: $5–$8/hour based on experience.
-Flexible Schedule: Work when you want — just be available for check-ins during MST afternoons.
-Creative Collaboration: Direct input and feedback from the owner — your ideas will shape the brand’s identity.
-Growth Potential: If it’s a good fit, there’s room to expand into more hours and additional responsibilities over time.
