Original Post 9/1 Update 9/1 - Only looking for a Software Developer, not a bookkeeper or virtual assistant.
WHO I AM
I'm an Australian Accountant who does Bookkeeping and Tax Returns.
***Please note - I am NOT looking for Bookkeeping/Accounting Assistance in this role ***
WHO YOU ARE
You are a software developer who has experience in software development but may not yet have had experience using Robotic Processing Automation applications - but have a keen interest in applying your existing knowledge to a new challenge.
WHAT/HOW
I'm looking for your help to create a Robot Worker who can:
1. Download reports from our Government Taxation Portal
2. Set up those reports in Excel or Google Sheets
AND
3. Perform Bookkeeping Processes such as coding transactions on accounting software like Xero or Quickbooks.
RESULT WHEN DONE
If you succeed, you'll make a massive difference to my business, my team and my clients - and you'll have my eternal gratitude.
Finishing 1 & 2 means we may have a "One Click Button" or "spreadsheet input" - whereby the Robot could go to the Government Taxation Website, download reports, combine reports into One Spreadsheet & Provide a useful
"Onboarding Client History Summary" for us to help our new clients.
Finishing 3 means we have an "Overnight" bookkeeper that can assist us 24 hours a day to keep our clients books up to date (or keep us aware of daily transactions that are out of the ordinary).
FURTHER WORK
Once this use case is proven there might be a lot of "rinse and repeat" work such as
4. Setting up Unique Client Profiles to do the above based on the specifics of a particular client, or a particularly business industry.
You may be able to integrate AI into this workflow, or at a base level we may be able to achieve a lot with complex if/then type instructions tailor-based on the particularly job being performed.
While this is the main "Project" that you'll be working on, there is likely to be other projects as we go depending on the successful work on the 1st projects, - such as Building Internal and Client Dashboards/ Power BI type work and the like.
RESEARCH - OTHERS DOING THIS WORK
I have spoken to a firm who does this work, and I've spoken to an IT friend about what is required. The firm doing this work are very expensive so I would prefer to spend more to "build it myself" and then have the long term benefits, rather than forever pay a high price for the management of the "robots".
PAYMENTS
Paid weekly in PHP to your nominated bank account. Prefer the week to run Wed to Tues (so your payment is received before the weekend), but we can discuss what works for you.
Rate & PART
The Rate above is based on Part Time of 20 hours per week.
Rate can be negotiated based on the experience of the candidate.
I've put Part-Time on the application as I would guess the person has other projects they are working on, and also the budget that I have to work on the project. It may be possible to pay Full-Time depending on progress of the application, or if we have success, or my business picks up (this is a quite time of year for my business and I have other team & expenses to pay and a number of clients who owe me money - a few don't currently have the money to pay).
So I may be open to hours worked depending on the desires of the right candidate.
UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT
I value your time, and we would jointly d
PROJECT FINISH BEFORE 13TH MONTH PAYMENT REQUIRED
This project may be finished before 13th Month payment is Required to be paid by me to you in December, If So there may be some kind of bonus that we can negotiate if we agree the project has been completed successfully.
WHO THIS JOB SUITS
I think this is a great job for someone with experience to learn how to do a project type that is likely to be highly in demand and also to potentially experiment with cutting edge Robotic Process Automation and AI (to the extent that it can be afforded by a Small Business Owner).
ABOUT ME
As a Christian and Business Owner managing 5 tea
APPLICATION SUCCESS
You never know how many people see a job and apply for it.
If I received say 10 or 20 applications - then I plan to update the job post - so that you know that is isn't worth applying unless you really are able to succeed in the task based on demonstrated past experience and/or client proof of work or testimonials.
TIMEFRAME/RECRUITMENT PROCESS/APPLY POINTS
I'm posting this on Tues 9 Jan - I'm not planning to login for 48 hours.
I don't necessarily care about Apply Points - but you can tell applicants that are "applying for every job" and those who "make a special effort" to apply.
I don't need a massive special effort (I respect your time - I feel bad that people's time is wasted in applying for a job they don't get) - but a unique message to me and a link or attachment to know that it is worth interviewing you is a great first start.
Then in the interview we can discuss how you'd start in solving the problem & your availability and what you'd like to charge to assist.
WORKING WITH ME
This post is very specific and has processes & timeframes. I do this on purpose to provide clarity and show respect to you.
When we work together it may be quite different - we can discuss how you'd like to work - whether we do a SCRUM each day or updates during the week.
If you can "manage yourself" and show your progress - then I don't need all the detail or to waste 1/2 hour meeting with you - I'm here to remove hurdles so you can work effectively.
I use Voxer (voice chat) or WhatsApp as well as
Also - we might create other tasks you can work on so you aren't stuck just in case I have a busy afternoon with meetings and can't devote the time required to give you the right answer (some decisions are best made after a nights sleep for example!)
If you are stuck - then I'll spend extra time to help so that you can move forward, or at some point agree it is an unsuccessful attempt (see above for process on that so that you aren't "cut off" without notice from the weekly payments that you would be expecting).
Sorry for the long read! If you have any other questions through the process - please reach out and let me know.
Again - I may update the job post once I know a bit more about the exact skills required.
Cheers!
Scott
