Position Overview
We're seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to join our team on a part-time contract basis to help shape the user experience of our dual-sided marketplace platform. Working closely with our frontend and backend development teams, you'll create intuitive interfaces that serve both our buyers and sellers.
Contract Details
- Part-time position (20+ hours per week)
- 3 month initial contract with possibility of extension
- Remote-friendly with occasional team sync meetings
- Flexible scheduling within core business hours
Key Responsibilities
- Design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and improvements
- Create and maintain design system components that work for both buyer and seller interfaces
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Work with backend developers to understand technical constraints and optimise user flows
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback and analytics data
- Document design decisions and maintain up-to-date design specifications
- Participate in sprint planning and design review sessions
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of UX/UI design experience for web applications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating marketplace, e-commerce, or complex web application projects
- Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma preferred)
- Experience creating and maintaining design systems
- Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first approach
- Knowledge of user research methodologies and usability testing
- Excellent visual design skills with strong typography and layout abilities
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience designing for marketplace platforms
- Understanding of design handoff processes and developer collaboration
- Knowledge of frontend development principles and limitations
- Experience with data-driven design decisions and A/B testing
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Background in conducting user interviews and synthesizing feedback

You'll be working on:
- Redesigning key user journeys for both buyers and sellers
