Professional Video Editor - Youtube

Pay: Starts at $7 per edited minute (Including Revisions) ($70-$140/video)
(opportunity to increase up to $12+ per edited minute over time) ($120-$240/video)
Workload: 3/4 videos per month, each ranging from 10–20 minutes in length. (Freelance/Part Time Position)

Job Description
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Video Editor to produce engaging, story-driven long-form YouTube videos (10–20 minutes each). Our content style is inspired by creators such as Vox, Jake Tran, and similar channels that blend narration with dynamic visuals and relevant news clips.
In this role, you will take raw footage and scripted materials, then craft a polished final product that captures and holds the viewer’s attention. The position offers significant creative freedom once our overall video style has been established. We expect the editor to incorporate sound effects, on-screen text/graphics, and stock footage to enhance storytelling.

Responsibilities
- Edit 3/4 long-form YouTube videos (10–20 minutes each) per month.
- Source and integrate high-quality footage from the internet and public databases.
- Use tasteful sound effects (e.g., clicks, swooshes, low rumbles for dramatic moments).
- Incorporate stock footage—no excessive or clichéd B-roll (e.g., people cheering, crying).
- Add on-screen text or graphics to emphasize key points.
- Collaborate with us to establish a consistent video style; gradually gain autonomy as you learn our brand and tone.
- Adhere to agreed-upon deadlines and communicate effectively throughout the editing process.

Requirements
- Software Proficiency (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar professional video editing software.)
- Must already have a subscription to preferred software
- Photoshop/Illustrator skills are a plus (for thumbnail design), but not required.
- Knowledge of YouTube Copyright System
- Must be aware of fair use considerations and best practices to avoid copyright strikes.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Ability to respond promptly to messages and revision requests.
- Must submit samples of your editing style (portfolio, reel, or YouTube links).
- Access to Footage Databases (preferred, not required)
- Having an existing subscription to footage resources like Storyblocks is a plus (not required).
- Work hours are flexible, as long as you meet agreed-upon deadlines.

If selected, you will join our team to edit 4 videos/month, with the potential to increase your rate and volume over time.
