JOB OVERVIEW

The Product Researcher position is integral to sourcing critical insights and data that guide the selection and enhancement of products on the Amazon platform. The role demands a meticulous, detective-like approach to market research, delving deep into data to identify viable product niches, understand consumer trends, and assess the competition. Responsibilities include exploring extensive data to uncover new markets or products and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers. Proficiency in data analysis, a keen understanding of market trends, and a thorough grasp of Amazon’s algorithms are crucial for selecting the right products and optimizing them for maximum visibility and sales. This role is central to advancing Amazon's e-commerce success by enabling the company to make informed, data-driven decisions on product selection and positioning.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

--Product Identification: Source potential products that align with market demand, profitability, and company goals. Develop financial models to estimate potential revenue and costs for each product.
--Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences within various product categories on Amazon. Evaluate potential market size and growth opportunities.
--Competition Assessment: Analyze competitor products, pricing, and strategies to identify gaps and opportunities for differentiation. Assess competitors' financial performance to benchmark against our products.
--Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools and software to evaluate sales history, keyword rankings, and customer reviews to make informed product recommendations. Analyze financial data to assess profit margins and return on investment.
--Pricing Strategy: Assist in setting competitive pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability while considering factors like Amazon fees and shipping costs. Calculate break even points and assess pricing impact on profitability
--Keyword Research: Optimize product listings with relevant keywords to enhance search visibility and product discoverability. Monitor the impact of keyword optimization on product financials.
--Report Generation: Prepare reports and data-driven insights to share with stakeholders and make informed decisions. Include financial summaries and quick quotes in reports for product evaluations.
--Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges in the product selection and optimization process and develop contingency plans. Analyze the financial impact of potential risks.
--Create quarterly rocks for the growth of the company and growth as a product researcher. T create innovative rocks for the company

Required Skills:

--Minimum 2 years of experience in product research roles.
--Market Research: Proficiency in conducting market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and market opportunities. Familiarity with research tools and methodologies is essential.
--Data Analysis: Strong data analysis skills to interpret sales data, customer reviews, and other relevant metrics. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or data analytics software is important.
--Competitor Analysis: The ability to assess and analyze competitor products, pricing, and strategies. Understanding how to differentiate products from the competition is crucial.
--Financial Analysis: Proficiency in financial analysis to evaluate product profitability, pricing strategies, and return on investment. Familiarity with financial modeling and cost analysis is beneficial.
--Keyword Research: Knowledge of keyword research tools and techniques to optimize product listings for search engine visibility and improved click-through rates.
--Product Selection: The ability to identify and recommend products based on market demand, profitability, and company goals. Experience in product sourcing and supplier relationships is valuable.
--Report Generation: Proficiency in creating reports and data-driven insights to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
