## ???? **The Role**
As our Podcast Editor, you’ll **work directly with our Podcast Manager** to ensure all episodes are delivered **1 month ahead of schedule**, fully edited, polished, and optimized for retention.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Editing each episode inside **Descript** (must be fluent in this tool)
- Structuring episodes according to our **signature format** (see below)
- Choosing the **most engaging
- Editing both **audio and video** for YouTube + Spotify
- Delivering a clean, consistent final product each week

Each episode should follow this format:
1. **Hook** (an engaging 10–30 second
2. **Pre-Recorded Intro** (provided by the host, must be inserted after hook)
3. **Sponsorship Sound Bytes** (provided by us, **added at 3 slots throughout the episode**)
4. **Main Episode Content** (cleaned, structured, and tightened for clarity and flow)
5. **Outro (optional)**

## ???? **What You’ll Be Doing (Weekly)**
- Editing **1–2 full podcast episodes per week**
- Episodes range from **60–75 minutes each**
- Finding the **best “hook”** to lead off the episode (this is key!)
- Adding in **pre-recorded intro and sponsorship sound bytes at points throughout**
- Removing filler words, long pauses, background noise, and crosstalk
- Editing for **flow, pacing, and clarity**
- Exporting final audio + video files for delivery (MP3/MP4)
- Coordinating with Podcast Manager to stay **4 weeks ahead of publishing schedule**

## ? **Requirements**
- **Must be proficient in Descript** – this is our primary editing platform
- Proven experience editing **business or interview-style podcasts**
- Strong judgment for storytelling and pacing—especially finding the best hook
- **Proficient in both audio *and* video editing best practices**
- Audio: Clean sound, leveling, EQ, compression, transitions
- Video: Cutting, syncing, formatting for YouTube, pacing, basic titles/captions
- Familiar with YouTube formatting standards and retention best practices
- Great communicator and comfortable with remote tools (Slack, Notion, Drive)
- Highly organized and dependable with **consistent weekly delivery**
