Personal Assistant to the Controller (Business Analysis)

Job Summary: The Personal Assistant to the Controller will assist in business analysis activities, providing data-driven insights and supporting key financial decision-making. This position requires proficiency in analysis software tools such as PowerBI, MS Excel, and QuickBooks, along with experience in general ledger reporting, budget/forecast analysis, and variance analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive business analysis support to the Controller to aid in financial decision-making and strategy.
Utilize analysis tools such as PowerBI, MS Excel, and QuickBooks to generate reports, analyze financial data, and identify trends.
Run reports on the general ledger and other accounting data formats, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
Develop and present detailed tables, charts, and data visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
Drill down into complex data tables to identify source documents and root causes of discrepancies.
Conduct budget and forecast analysis to assess financial performance and assist in budgetary planning.
Perform variance analysis and develop reports utilizing advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) to highlight key financial insights.
Collaborate with other team members to understand data requirements and ensure the timely delivery of relevant reports.
Assist with ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required by the Controller.

Qualifications:
Preferably a background in accounting, finance, or business analysis. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or CPA/other relevant certification is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including the use of formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and other advanced functions.
Experience with QuickBooks (desktop version) for financial reporting and analysis.
Proficient in PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools to create reports and data visualizations.
Strong understanding of financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Highly analytical with the ability to quickly identify trends and anomalies in data.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to focus on data accuracy.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to present data findings clearly and effectively.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
