Job Title: Painting Estimator
Location: Remote
Job Type: Part-Time to Full Time
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Painting Estimator to join our team. The ideal
candidate will be proficient in reading and interpreting architectural plans, performing accurate
takeoffs, and preparing competitive bids for painting projects. This role requires keen attention
to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work under tight deadlines to ensure accurate cost
estimations and project feasibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze architectural plans and construction documents to determine
project scope.
• Perform accurate takeoffs, focusing on key building details such as:
o Number of stories, units, and unit types (e.g., 70 one-bedroom, 30 two
bedroom).
o Roo
bedroom, 9 ft ceiling).
o Common areas such as corridors, staircases, and amenities (gym, theater, lobby).
o Design specifications, including paint colors, finishes, and wallpaper locations.
• Utilize software tools like BlueBeam for efficient plan reading and takeoff calculations.
• Work closely with project managers and painting experts to ensure accuracy and
feasibility of estimates.
• Provide quick turnaround estimates, aiming for efficiency in extracting key project details
within 10-20 minutes for experienced plan readers.
• Ensure accuracy to avoid financial losses in bid submissions.
• Assist in improving internal processes to streamline estimating workflows.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within the painting industry.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural plans and blueprints.
• Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software such as BlueBeam, Planswift, or similar
tools.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills to ensure precise calculations.
• Ability to work under time constraints and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with teams and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working with painting contractors or within the painting industry.
• Knowledge of various paint types, finishes, and coatings.
• Familiarity with construction bidding processes and cost estimation methodologies.
• Background in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
