Packaging Engineer & Product Specs Controller

Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Packaging Engineer & Product Specs Controller with strong mathematical and geometry skills to determine and design the best packaging solutions for our products. This role involves selecting and specifying the correct types of cartons and packaging from the unit carton to the pallet level, ensuring efficiency in weight, dimensions, safety, and cost. Additionally, this role will manage product specifications, including weights and dimensions, as well as oversee Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine optimal packaging solutions for individual units, master cartons, and pallets with clear diagrams for ease of understanding across teams
• Specify and estimate weights, dimensions, and materials to ensure packaging is efficient in terms of cost, weight, and protection
• Create and manage product specifications, including packaging dimensions and weights, to facilitate accurate data sharing and accessibility
• Oversee COGS and pricing management, ensuring all information is accurate and current
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain and implement best practices in packaging efficiency, cost management, and material selection
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging meets high standards

Qualifications:

• Someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong mathematical and geometric skills, essential for precise calculations and efficient packaging designs
• Proficiency in creating clear diagrams and visual aids for product specifications
