Location: Remote – Must work 9:00–10:00 PM PST (Vancouver time)
Type: Part-Time (1 hour daily, Monday–Thursday or customizable)
Students: Children ages 5–8 (English native speakers, attending French immersion school)

???? Who We’re Looking For:
We are a family based in Vancouver, Canada, looking for a compassionate, energetic, and well-educated English reading tutor or storyteller to guide our children (ages 5–8) through engaging evening reading sessions.

These sessions should be filled with storytelling, reading aloud, guided questioning, vocabulary building, and imagination. Our focus is not just English improvement, but also fostering critical thinking, literary curiosity, and joy of reading.

? Requirements:
Must be available daily (or 4x/week) at 9:00–10:00 PM PST (Vancouver Time)

Excellent English fluency; native or near-native accent (North American preferred)

Experience working with children (ages 5–8)

Able to select and read age-appropriate books (classics or themed reading)

Warm, patient, and capable of guiding discussion (not just reading)

Ability to keep students engaged through storytelling, voice, and expression

TEFL, English degree, or prior teaching experience is a big plus

Bonus: Experience using Zoom, Google Meet, or other online tools

Read short stories or chapters aloud

Ask open-ended questions to guide thinking

Explain vocabulary in context

Connect story themes to real life

Use drawing, short writing, or imagination games to deepen engagement

Track weekly progress and gently guide improvements

???? Rate & Contract:
Competitive hourly rate (to be discussed)

Long-term role preferred (minimum 3 months, extendable)

All teaching done online via Zoom or Google Meet
