Medical Billing Specialist

Job Posting: Medical Coding and Billing Specialist (Fully Remote)

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Coding and Billing Specialist to join our remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and efficient processing of billing, coding, and related tasks to support our mission of delivering exceptional medical nutrition therapy nationwide. This individual should align with our vision and mission and enjoy improving and automating the various workflows that they will be responsible for.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately assign and verify diagnosis and procedure codes for services provided.
Handle all aspects of medical billing, including claim eligibility checks, patient demographic updates, claim submission, follow-up, and resolution of denials/rejections.
Post payments in a timely manner.
Research and resolve client billing challenges or issues.
Invoice, collect, and set up payment plans as needed.
Communicate with clients via email or over the phone in a courteous and professional manner.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer policies, and compliance requirements (provided by our billing manager)
Work closely with our team of RDs and administrative staff to ensure seamless billing and coding operations.
Provide support and guidance on billing and insurance-related queries from clients and staff.
Weekly meetings to review processes and reporting.

Qualifications:
4-8 years experience in medical billing, coding, and customer service within the healthcare industry. Preferably some experience working with outpatient dietitian practices.
Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT codes, and insurance processes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
Experience with Healthie EMR/EHR, or Google Suite a plus.

Position Details:
Type: Full-Time
Location: Fully Remote
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST or 8 AM to 4 PM CST
