Nautical Staffing is looking for Medical Billers who will work for a California-based client that is in the physical therapy industry.
Responsibilities:
- Post charges and submit claims to insurance companies
- Assess accuracy of patient bills and obtain any missing information
- Work directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid
- Follow up on claims (unpaid, denied or underpaid) via phone with insurance companies
- Verify client insurance coverage and benefits
- Identify deductibles and copays due based on service
- Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims
- Prepare, review, and send patient statements
- Audit daily patient responsibility to ensure timely collections
- Verify insurance coverage of patient
- Answer patient billing questions by phone or
- Research discrepancies with payments such as underpayments, overpayments, denials or patient responsibility.
- Review EOBs for accuracy of payment
- Handle collections on unpaid accounts
- Post charges and account reconciliation
- Will be spearheading a Migration of the system to a better software to improve business processes
- Assist with data migration from old to new EHR/Scheduling system
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in any medical billing system
- Must have knowledge in billing operations (e.g., ICD-10 and CPT coding, claims submission, charges and payment posting)
- Must have ability to navigate EHR platforms
- Must be familiar with HIPAA guidelines
- Must possess a customer-oriented attitude and proper phone etiquette
- Must be technologically Savvy
- Experience in handling Spanish native speakers is a Plus!
- Willing to work full-time (20 hours/week) during US Pacific business hours
