Hybrid Machine learning & Transportation Safety Engineer—Street Simplified
Full-time | Remote Working hours: (two options)
a: US time
b: 12pm-4pm (break) 9pm-1am | Ph Time

At Street Simplified, we leverage video analytics to help public sector agencies understand the root causes of crashes and equip them with proactive tools to prevent them. Our mission is to make roads safer and save lives through data-driven insights.

We are seeking an engineer with deep technical knowledge in machine learning, data science, computer vision, statistics, and data visualization who is interested in transportation safety and willing to learn the field of safety engineering to assist our current safety team with automating tasks currently being done manually by our transportation engineering team.

Responsibilities
-Safety Engineering (Training Provided):
-Building detailed reports outlining risks and potential mitigations at high crash locations
-Research into new safety countermeasures, standards, and agency requirements
-Review of Street Safety Analytics data, quality control, analytics interpretation

Machine learning & software dev
-Automate current safety engineering analytic extraction methods with the ultimate goal of automating the majority of our -current engineering workflow
-Develop safety models to correlate near miss and crash data using our current dataset as training & validation data
-Develop extraction routines to extract and visualize new insights for clients

Qualifications
-Technical Skills:
-Master’s degree in a science-related field (civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering/computer science, -physics, or related field)
-Proven competence across technical domains
-Proficiency in Python and experience with cloud services (AWS).
-Familiarity with data analytics tools

Soft Skills:
-Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and balance multiple responsibilities
