Loan Accountant - Servicing

I. JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, functions include but are not limited to daily journal entries of loan servicing activities, general ledger account reconciliations, month end close process, research loans related questions and discrepancies as needed.

II. EXPECTATIONS:

• Prepares and ensures accuracy and integrity of accounting and transactional records to ensure proper financial reporting.
• Research and resolve reconciling items.
• Timely and accurately processes journal entries.
• Assists with month end close procedures.
• Independently provides prompt and professional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Supports other teaUpgrade to see actual infombers, as necessary.
• Works as a backup support to the other members of the team
• Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

III. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting / working experience required.
• Loan servicing and mortgage banking experience is a huge plus.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Effective verbal and written communication and mathematical skills are necessary.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a sharp eye on meeting deadlines.
• Excellent PC skills, including word processing and Excel spreadsheets. Ability to learn additional programs as required.
• Must be available to work the night shift
