High School Math Tutor

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic online math tutor to support our 8th-grade son. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in high school education and a passion for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions (knowledge of Singapore Math is a plus)
Review and reinforce current lessons and assignments to ensure material comprehension.
Design customized lesson plans tailored to the student’s unique learning needs and pace.
Provide guidance on homework assignments, emphasizing problem-solving skills.
Monitor and assess the student’s progress, identifying areas for targeted improvement.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents about the student’s progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to the tutoring approach.

Qualifications
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with high school students (preferred).
Strong understanding of 8th-grade (and beyond) Common Core math curriculum and standards
Ability to design engaging and adaptable lesson plans.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to education.

Schedule
Flexible availability between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM Pacific Standard Time. Our time zone is in California, USA.

Compensation
Competitive and negotiable based on experience.
