About Us
Sense Data Lab is an Australian analytics consultancy specializing in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking, dataLayer implementations, and advanced digital analytics solutions. We work with eCommerce and enterprise brands to ensure accurate data tracking and actionable insights.
We’re looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented GA4 & Google Tag Manager Specialist who can implement accurate and reliable event tracking across various websites. If you’re a problem solver who loves working with data and ensuring everything is set up perfectly, this role is for you!
What You’ll Be Doing (20 Hours/Week):
? Implementing GA4 event tracking using Google Tag Manager (GTM)
? Debugging & fixing GA4, GTM, and dataLayer tracking issues
? Ensuring GA4 revenue and conversions match Shopify, WooCommerce, or other platforms
? Auditing GA4 tracking setups to check for missing or incorrect events
? Setting up Enhanced eCommerce tracking for Shopify & WooCommerce stores
? Using GA4 DebugView & GTM Preview Mode to validate tracking implementations
? Collaborating with our team to ensure first-time accuracy in event tracking
? Writing clear, easy-to-understand explanations (NO unnecessary jargon)
Who We’re Looking For:
? 2+ years of experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) & Google Tag Manager (GTM)
? Strong understanding of GA4 Enhanced eCommerce tracking
? Experience troubleshooting GA4 DebugView & GTM Preview Mode
? Ability to read and work with dataLayer structures
? Basic JavaScript skills for tracking troubleshooting (e.g., checking dataLayer.push values)
? Excellent attention to detail (you check your own work before submitting)
? Reliable, proactive, and able to troubleshoot issues independently
? Strong written English (can explain tracking fixes clearly to non-technical clients)
Nice-to-Have Skills (Bonus Points if You Have):
? Experience with GA4 Measurement Protocol
? Experience with Shopify tracking (Liquid, GTM custom events, Shopify Pixels)
? Experience with BigQuery & GA4 data exports

Task:
1. Set up a GA4 event in Google Tag Manager (GTM) to track when a user clicks a “Buy Now” button.
2. Provide a screenshot of GTM Debug Mode showing the event firing.
3. Explain how you would debug an issue where GA4 revenue doesn’t match Shopify checkout revenue.
4. Describe a real-world tracking issue you solved and how you approached it.
