Hear Mee Out (HMO) is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to help us grow our brand into a household name. Our vision includes designing culturally and socially relevant merchandise that resonates with our audience and aligns with our platform's messaging. This is a remote, full-time position offering a monthly salary based on deliverables, with bi-weekly disbursements.
The ideal candidate is adept at creating unique, copyright-compliant designs and understands Black culture, hip-hop, and popular trends. They should have the ability to translate podcast content into visually compelling merchandise while keeping their finger on the pulse of what's happening in our industry and community.
Responsibilities:
Design Creation: Develop 3-5 unique, culturally relevant designs weekly for T-shirts, hoodies, joggers, jackets, tote bags, journals, and more.
Copyright Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with copyright laws, modifying or editing graphics as necessary to maintain originality.
Conceptual Design: Transform ideas into fresh, unique graphics using Adobe Suite tools, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Content Alignment: Watch episodes of the Hear Mee Out podcast and review the platform to create designs that reflect key messages and themes.
Trend Awareness: Stay informed on trends in hip-hop culture, Black culture, and fashion to produce on-trend designs.
Collaboration: Participate in monthly or bi-weekly tea
Proactive Input: Provide suggestions for new design ideas aligned with our brand and audience interests, rather than relying solely on direction.
Graphic Application: Prepare designs for screen printing, transfers, embroidery, and other production techniques.

llustration and Photo Editing: Create original illustrations and edit photos to complement the merchandise designs.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
Strong illustration and design skills with the ability to create graphics from scratch.
Experience in creating designs for apparel and merchandise.
Knowledge of screen printing, embroidery, and other apparel production techniques.
Deep understanding of Black culture, hip-hop, and current trends.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deliverables on time, and participate in tea
A strong portfolio showcasing culturally relevant designs, original illustrations, and other relevant work.
Schedule and Compensation:
Remote Position: Work from any time zone that suits you.
