JOB OVERVIEW

Who We Are:
We are a growing tech-focused company looking for a talented, self-driven and experienced Full-Stack developer to work along side our Lead (and currently sole) Developer. Our projects range from building new features and tools to maintaining and improving our existing systems. We value problem-solvers who can work independently, communicate effectively, and adapt quickly.

What You’ll Do:
- End-to-End Development: Work on both back-end (Python/Django) and front-end (React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS) to implement new features, fix bugs, and enhance user experiences.
- Database & APIs: Use PostgreSQL for data storage and retrieval. Investigate, understand and integrate external and internal APIs as needed.
- Prototyping & Quick Builds: Develop proof-of-concept applications quickly.
- Bug Fixes & UI Improvements: Identify and fix issues. Work directly with the Stewart (lead and solo developer) and the Founder, James, to refine user interfaces and ensure smooth functionality.
- Collaboration & Communication: Engage in short, focused discussions with Stewart and James, as well as members of the customer team to clarify requirements. We rely on developers who can pick up tasks without exhaustive documentation.
- Data Privacy & Anonymisation: Handle sensitive data responsibly

Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Python (Django) on the back-end and React/Next.js/Tailwind on the front-end.
- Database Management: Work with PostgreSQL, including optimising queries, structuring data models, and ensuring data integrity.
- API Integration & Development: Build and maintain APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange between different services and systems.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Quickly diagnose issues, propose solutions, and implement fixes with minimal oversight.
- Project Ownership: Take on end-to-end ownership of features or mini-projects, from idea to deployment.
- Environment & Tools: Collaborate using remote development environments (e.g., VS Code Server on a Linux container). Help maintain efficient development setups for testing and production.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Multiple years in software development (but we value skill and attitude over strict years of experience).

Technical Skills:
- Back-End: Proficient in Python and Django.
- Front-End: Experience with React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS (or a similar CSS framework).
- Databases: Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- APIs: Comfortable integrating third-party APIs and building RESTful APIs.
- Version Control: Proficient with Git and Git-based workflows.

Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a knack for creative solutions.
- Clear and proactive communication, able to discuss requirements and propose ideas with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities and quick-turnaround projects.

Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with data-scraping tools or libraries (e.g., Beautiful Soup, Selenium).
- Experience deploying and hosting web applications on cloud infrastructure.
- UI/UX sensibility to create intuitive and attractive user interfaces.

Why Join Us:
- Competitive Compensation: 90k PHP (commensurate with experience), which translates to a strong earning potential in the local market.
- Remote-First Culture: We all work remotely so you will be in the same positions as all of us.
- Autonomy & Growth: Tackle diverse projects with the freedom to innovate and bring your own ideas to the table.
- Impactful Work: Build and improve tools that directly help customers and our team. Your contributions will be visible and meaningful.
- Supportive Team: Collaborate with a team that values open communication, mutual respect, and continuous learning.

We look forward to hearing from talented developers who are ready to hit the ground running, solve real problems.
