You are expected to be available and working during regular working hours (9 am - 5 pm ET). The hiring process is a three tier interview: meeting with the Director of Web Development, Director of Client Services and a technical exercise with a team presentation.
You are familiar with and have some working knowledge of the technologies we use every day. Including, but not limited to:
Open-source CMS Platforms (Drupal, WordPress, etc)
HTML5
Javascript
CSS/SCSS
PHP
You can troubleshoot problems with existing code and determine possible solutions.
You’re working to increase your knowledge of the technologies that “orbit” the core technologies we work with. For example:
MySQL
using the command line
build tools such as npm, gulp, and grunt
git branching and deployment workflows
Given appropriate documentation and guidance, you can deploy code to test and production environments.
You manage your productivity by reviewing your ticket assignments (in Jira), communicating with project managers, and providing daily updates on your assigned tickets.
You participate in project planning/sprint planning sessions
You accept accountability for your estimates and make all reasonable efforts to deliver on time, even if you encounter unknowns.
You handle various small to medium-sized tasks delegated by project managers or senior developers. These tasks are likely to include:
Troubleshooting issues on existing websites;
Adding small features and enhancements to existing sites;
Working on specific features for new projects;
Responding to quality assurance tickets and providing minor fixes to ongoing projects;
You communicate regularly (on Slack) with the project managers and account managers in charge of the projects/accounts you are working on.
You provide estimates for technical tasks to the best of your ability and communicate those estimates to project and account managers.
You know when to raise your hand and ask for help.
You are a direct part of our company's revenue center. As a result, you:
You must track your time. This role is expected to log 40 hours weekly, with 90?ing billable to projects or accounts.
Must be aware of and accountable to the scope and budgets of projects and tasks.
Your performance is evaluated based on the following metrics:
Billable time devoted to projects and accounts
Peer reviews from other teammates
Client satisfaction scores for your projects/accounts
