JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Full-Stack Engineer to completely rebuild the Sips & Sparks website. Our current website, sipsandsparks.org, isn’t where it needs to be, and we’re ready for a total revamp. This role involves coding both the front and back end, reimagining the site’s design, and ensuring it functions better than ever. Your primary goal will be to create a website that automates the matching process for our speed-dating events, mimicking features currently offered by SpeedMatchApp.

Key Responsibilities:
Rebuild the website using a Node.js backend (currently hosted on Heroku) and a Vue.js front end (currently deployed on Netlify).
Integrate the match form directly onto the new website.
Design and implement a seamless, automated matching system for participants.
Work from an existing design while contributing your own creative ideas to enhance it.
Optimize the site for performance, user experience, and scalability.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine functionality and design requirements.
Provide updates throughout the project and implement feedback effectively.

Requirements:
Proven experience with Node.js, Vue.js, and deploying websites on platforms like Heroku and Netlify.
Strong background in full-stack development, server-side logic, and database integration.
Demonstrated experience building websites with automation and custom functionality.
A portfolio showcasing relevant work and prior success in similar projects.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
A collaborative mindset and openness to design input and iteration.

Additional Instructions:
Check out our current website at sipsandsparks.org to get an idea of where we’re starting. It’s functional but far from what we want. We’re aiming to build a site that does everything SpeedMatchApp does—only better, and directly on our platform.

All seriously interested and qualified applicants will receive a detailed video explaining our goals and expectations for the website rebuild.

This is a one-time project with ongoing support as needed. You should be available to assist with any tech support issues during the first few weeks after the new website launches. If all goes well, we’d love to collaborate with you on future projects to enhance and expand the website!

How to Apply:
Submit your application with:
Your resume and portfolio showcasing similar projects.
A brief summary of your experience with Node.js, Vue.js (or similar), and building automated systems.

Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. We’re excited to hear from you and collaborate on building a platform that sparks connections and redefines modern matchmaking!

If your application seems to be a good fit, we’ll provide a video detailing the features we’d like the new website to include. Afterward, we can schedule an interview to discuss how you can help with this project.
