Freelance Structural Steel Drafter & Estimating Support (Hourly - Remote)

About the Role:

Jet Steel is looking for a freelance structural steel drafter to support our estimating team. This role is hourly-based, with pay determined by recorded time via Hubstaff. The ideal candidate will assist in wireframe modeling (shaft only), IFC model creation, and generating material lists for tendering.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create wireframe & IFC models for estimating purposes.
• Generate material lists based on project specifications.
• Review structural steel tenders & specifications to extract key details.
• Support the estimating team in breaking down complex drawings.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or other take-off software is a plus.

Requirements:

? Strong experience in structural steel modeling (wireframe & IFC).
? Knowledge of UK steel section sizes (Canadian/US knowledge is a bonus).
? Ability to review technical specs & extract material requirements.
? Fluency in English (written & spoken) is essential.
? Willing to use Hubstaff for task management & payroll (paid every two weeks).
? Freelance, hourly-based role with flexible work hours.
