Junior Buyer for PROCUREMENT
FOOD INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE (Lot tracing, expiration dates, compliance) IS REQUIRED.
The Junior Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing products and services needed for our Food Distribution business to operate. Responsibilities include:
Purchasing - Buying Dairy and other perishable goods at the best price and quality.
Negotiating - Negotiating with suppliers for the best pricing on behalf of Mar Pacific and our customers.
Managing - Managing inventory and merchandising, and ensuring products are purchased from safe sources
Research and obtain price quotes from vendors and process orders to multiple suppliers.
Update pricing on assigned items on a weekly and/or monthly basis.
Managing inventory for 10-15 items, possibly more. (Review current inventory and expiration dates)
Work with the Senior Buyer and Sales team to align sourcing with customer specifications and expectations.
Monitor market pricing and trends to optimize purchase costs ensure competitive costs for customers and help grow sales.
Communicate out-of-stock positions and other product and market updates to internal stakeholders.
Contact suppliers regarding prices, quotes, and detailed specifications of shipping and delivery information.
Establish and maintain a reputation of credibility and responsiveness, ensuring prompt communication and timely follow-up on issues.
Work closely with the warehouse teams to schedule inbound freight to ensure all products comply with Mar Pacific quality standards.

A minimum of two years of experience in inventory management, Food service or Food Distribution.
Good analytical skills and proficiency level in Microsoft Word and Excel.
