Job Title: Financial Controller/Bookkeeper for Real Estate

Location: Remote

Company: Mission Hill Capital Management LLC

We are a Boston-based real estate business seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller/Bookkeeper Virtual Assistant for a project-based gig. This one-time role involves setting up and organizing our financial systems to ensure smooth tracking, accurate reporting, and scalability as we grow. You will work directly with me and my assistant to organize past data, set up a system for future financial tracking, and prepare a comprehensive 5-year financial report. If you perform well during this project, there will be an opportunity for ongoing part-time work to periodically review and maintain our financial systems.

Responsibilities:
Set up and manage a bookkeeping system (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Google Sheets).
Organize and reconcile past financial data, including income, expenses, and renovation costs.
Prepare financial reports, including P&L statements, cash flow analysis, and balance sheets.
Track rental income, property expenses, and operational costs.
Implement financial tracking systems for ongoing portfolio management.
Collaborate to create an accurate 5-year financial report.
Assist with budget planning and forecasting for new projects and renovations.
Ensure compliance with real estate tax regulations and prepare tax-related documents.

Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping or financial control (real estate experience preferred).
Proficiency in financial tools/software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Google Sheets).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently.
Good English communication skills (both written and verbal).
Understanding of GAAP
Experience working with real estate businesses or property management.
Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations and real estate-specific financial concepts (e.g., depreciation, amortization).
Advanced Excel skills for data organization and reporting.
Must be willing to work on US Eastern Standard Time.
