Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Financial Officer to oversee the financial strategy and operations of our accounting firm. The Finance Officer will play a pivotal role in driving the firm’s financial performance, ensuring compliance with US accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Develop and implement financial strategies to align with the firm’s overall objectives.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Financial Operations Management
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify, assess, and manage financial risks.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Collaborate with auditors, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors to maintain compliance.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and present key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to stakeholders.
Provide insights into cost management, profitability, and revenue growth strategies.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Technology and Process Optimization
Evaluate and implement financial management software and tools.
Streamline financial workflows and processes for efficiency.
Leverage technology to improve data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within the accounting or professional services industry.
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic financial plans.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
Proficiency in financial management software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in a senior financial role at an accounting firm or similar environment.
Expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and fundraising.
Familiarity with emerging financial technologies and trends in the accounting industry.
