Filipino Novelist & Short Story Writer

We are seeking a talented Filipino Novelist and Short Story Writer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a strong understanding of Filipino culture, and the ability to craft compelling narratives. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and excellent writing skills to produce original fiction content for various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and write original novels, short stories, and creative fiction pieces.

Create engaging and culturally relevant stories that appeal to Filipino and international audiences.

Collaborate with editors and content managers to align stories with the brand’s voice and objectives.

Research and incorporate Filipino traditions, history, and societal themes into narratives.

Edit and proofread drafts to ensure high-quality, polished final content.

Meet deadlines and submit manuscripts according to agreed schedules.

Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and pitch new story ideas.

Revise stories based on editorial feedback.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, Literature, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Proven experience as a Novelist or Short Story Writer with a strong portfolio of published or unpublished work.

Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to create compelling characters, plots, and dialogue.

Excellent command of the Filipino and English languages.

Knowledge of Filipino culture, traditions, and history.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Strong research and editing skills.

Passion for Filipino literature and contemporary issues.

Preferred Skills:

Experience writing for digital platforms or publications.

Knowledge of different fiction genres (romance, historical, fantasy, etc.).

Ability to write both long-form and short-form stories.

Familiarity with self-publishing platforms.
