As an IT Documentation Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to create, maintain, and update documentation related to goods, services, and technologies that we are offering our clients. You will work closely with the IT team and relevant system administrators to gather information and ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for client devices, software, etc. This role will also be responsible for creating separate client-facing IT Books that explain the products and services we are currently supporting for each client.
Roles and Responsibilities
Documenting IT Systems: Create comprehensive and user-friendly documentation for various IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and databases. This includes capturing system configurations, installation procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
Process Documentation: Document IT processes and procedures, such as change management, i
Updates and Revisions: Regularly review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in technology, systems, or procedures. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
Version Control: Implement version control mechanisms to track changes made to documentation, maintain a revision history, and facilitate collaboration among tea
Knowledge Base Management: Maintain and expand a centralized knowledge base to serve as a repository for IT-related information. Organize and categorize information to facilitate easy access and searchability.
Documentation Standards: Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all IT documentation.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Network administrators, system administrators, and project managers, onsite techs to gather information and understand technical details necessary for documentation.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in documentation processes, tools, and formats. Recommend and implement enhancements to optimize documentation efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in IT or a related field, OR 2-4 years of experience in IT, or a related field.
Advanced skills with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Familiarity with Wiki-based systems and content management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence).
