Data/Systems Architect (Database & Automation Focus)

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Data/Systems Architect whose primary responsibilities are:

Organize & Build a Database: Design, structure, and maintain a scalable relational database (PostgreSQL or similar) that can handle tens of thousands of records related to properties, contacts, and phone numbers.

Webhooks & API Integrations: Leverage n8n (or similar automation platforms) to build workflows that connect our internal database with external systems (e.g., text messaging platforms, CRMs, data enrichment services). The goal is real-time or near-real-time data synchronization via webhooks and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

Database Management
-Design schema and tables for large datasets (30,000+ facilities, 15,000+ owners).
-Implement processes for data deduplication, normalization, and quality control.
-Ensure high performance and scalability as data grows.

Automation & Integration (n8n)
-Create and manage n8n workflows to automate data ingestion and transformation.
-Connect multiple platforms via webhooks and APIs (e.g., text messaging systems, lead generation tools).
-Handle error retries, exception logging, and monitoring of data pipelines.

Data Governance & Documentation
-Establish SOPs that clearly define how data flows across various systems.
-Maintain an audit trail of changes and ensure data consistency.
-Document database schemas, API credentials, and automation workflows for easy handover and scaling.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization
-Track key metrics (throughput, error rates, data latency).
-Continuously refine database queries, indexes, and automation workflows for improved efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Database Expertise: Strong background in relational database design (PostgreSQL preferred).
Automation Platform Experience: Hands-on experience with n8n or similar (Make, Zapier, etc.) for webhook/API integrations.
Data Transformation: Proficiency in cleaning, transforming, and merging large data sets.
API / Webhooks: Comfort integrating external systems, working with REST APIs, and setting up webhooks.
Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to pinpoint bottlenecks in data pipelines and quickly implement solutions.
Documentation & SOP Creation: Ability to produce step-by-step guides accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus Points
Experience with advanced features like PostGIS (geospatial data) or real-time analytics.
Familiarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce) and their integration patterns.
Scripting skills (Python, Node.js) for custom transformations.
