### **Job Overview:**
We are seeking a **Contract Acquisition Specialist** to help a growing cargo van transport business secure contracts across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in **business development, logistics, and contract procurement**, with experience in sourcing, bidding, and securing contracts for transporting goods. This role requires strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and an ability to connect with businesses, brokers, and government agencies to secure profitable contracts.

### **Types of Items We Transport:**
- **Retail & E-Commerce Deliveries** – Packages, clothing, consumer electronics, home goods.
- **Medical & Pharmaceutical Goods** – Medical supplies, lab specimens, pharmaceuticals.
- **Appliances & Furniture** – Small to mid-sized furniture, mattresses, office equipment.
- **Industrial & Auto Parts** – Machinery parts, tools, vehicle parts, HVAC supplies.
- **Construction Materials** – Paint, lumber, tiles, plumbing and electrical supplies.
- **Event & Trade Show Equipment** – Booth materials, signage, promotional goods.
- **Perishable & Specialty Goods** – Flowers, bakery items, meal prep services (if refrigerated).
- **Government & Municipal Contracts** – Office supplies, emergency response goods, military equipment.
- **Freight & Expedited Loads** – LTL (Less Than Truckload), palletized shipments, hotshot deliveries.

### **Key Responsibilities:**
- **Research & Identify Contracts** – Locate opportunities in **government, freight/logistics, retail, and local business markets**.
- **Bid & Proposal Management** – Prepare compelling **bids, RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and contract applications** to win competitive contracts.
- **Networking & Outreach** – Establish and maintain relationships with **freight brokers, business owners, and agencies** to generate ongoing contract opportunities.
- **Monitor Load Boards & Market Trends** – Use platforms like **DAT, Truckstop, and government procurement sites (Upgrade to see actual info)** to track industry opportunities.
- **Assist with Compliance & Registration** – Ensure proper **business registration, insurance, and compliance requirements** are met for government and private contracts.
- **Negotiate & Secure Contracts** – Work to obtain **fair, profitable contracts** that align with our business capacity and service offerings.

- **Business Development & Networking** – Ability to connect with **decision-makers, brokers, and businesses** to create long-term partnerships.

- **Tech-Savvy & Organized** – Comfortable using **CRM tools, load boards, government procurement sites, and tracking contracts efficiently**.

### **Performance Expectations:**
- Secure a **minimum number of contracts per month**, based on company goals.
- Successfully **submit and win bids on competitive contracts**.
- Build and maintain **ongoing business relationships** to generate repeat contracts.
- Identify and onboard **at least X new clients per quarter** (specific target to be set based on business needs).
- Stay up-to-date on **market trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices**.
- Provide **weekly progress reports** detailing leads, opportunities, and secured contracts.
- Maintain **a high level of professionalism and responsiveness** when engaging with potential clients.
