We seek a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Property Accountant who is proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise and has a solid understanding of commercial real estate leasing.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all bookkeeping and property accounting functions using QuickBooks Enterprise, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for each property managed, including recording rent payments, tracking expenses, and processing invoices from vendors.
Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment, including month-end accruals and tenant billings.
Prepare comprehensive financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to provide insights into the financial performance of the properties.
Work closely with property manager to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and market trends.
Reconcile monthly bank statements and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist in the collection of tenant rents and manage accounts payable and receivable.
Handle the setup of ACH bill payments, ensuring they are approved by management and processed.
Participate in financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely payments.
Abstract management agreements to allow for appropriate billing of management fees.
Collaborate with the real estate team, property managers, owners, and other stakeholders to reconcile accounts and address financial inquiries.
Review tax returns to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience (3-5 years) in bookkeeping or accounting, and Must be in property management or Commercial Real Estate for the United States.
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel.
Solid understanding of commercial leasing agreements, specifically NNN leases and Gross leases.
Demonstrated ability to review and understand tax returns.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain high levels of confidentiality.
Must be able to pass a background check.
