About Us
McCracken Property Management is an investor-focused property management company specializing in short-term, mid-term, and long-term rentals. We manage both traditional rental properties and a short-term rental management company, ensuring seamless financial operations for our investors and owners. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper who understands property management, real estate investing, and U.S. bookkeeping standards.
Job Summary
As our Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and reconciling financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with tax regulations. You will work closely with the owner and operations team to keep financials up-to-date and provide clear insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Accurately categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) bank feeds.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, Stripe, and PayPal accounts.
Record monthly mortgage loan payments and track loan balances.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Generate sales reports from platforms like Airbnb, VRBO,
Provide owner statements and quarterly investor reports for stakeholders.
Tax & Compliance
Report revenue to Avalara for quarterly occupancy tax filings.
Prepare and file 1099s for contractors and vendors.
Ensure compliance with U.S. tax and accounting standards for real estate and property management businesses.
Administrative & Operational Support
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies through phone calls and research.
Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial workflows.
Provide general financial administrative support as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in property management or real estate investing.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required.
Strong knowledge of U.S. bookkeeping and tax standards.
Experience with occupancy tax filings and 1099 preparation.
Familiarity with property management software like OwnerRez, Rentvine, or similar platforms is a plus.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
