Azure AI Chatbot Engineer (Health Industry)
About the Project
We’re developing a next-generation chatbot solution for a healthcare client, using Microsoft Azure and AI to deliver on-demand access to documents, video content, and training materials. The chatbot will leverage Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and advanced search/indexing to deliver quick, accurate answers and link directly to the right video timestamps.
Key Responsibilities
Data Ingestion & Indexing
Set up automated workflows (Azure Functions, Logic Apps) to ingest PDFs, Word docs, and video content.
Use Azure Video Indexer to generate transcripts and time stamps, then store everything in Azure Cognitive Search.
AI/Chatbot Development
Integrate Azure OpenAI (GPT-based) for context-aware Q&A.
Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or a similar pattern to combine search results with LLM responses.
Build or enhance a chatbot interface (e.g., using Azure Bot Service or a custom web app).
Healthcare Compliance & Security
Ensure the solution meets HIPAA/healthcare compliance requirements (data encryption, access control, auditing).
Collaborate with security teams to manage identity, authentication, and secure data handling.
Testing & Deployment
Create CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments and updates.
Monitor usage, performance, and costs; optimize services as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with healthcare professionals, IT staff, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and validate the solution’s effectiveness.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Azure Expertise
Hands-on experience with Azure Cognitive Search, Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, and related Azure services.
Programming
Proficiency in C#, Python, or Node.js; comfortable working with REST APIs and cloud-native architectures.
AI/NLP
Familiarity with GPT-based models, LLMs, or general NLP frameworks.
Ability to implement or learn advanced search techniques (semantic search, vector embeddings).
Healthcare / Compliance
Understanding of healthcare data standards (HIPAA, PHI handling).
Experience in a regulated industry or working with sensitive data is a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
