JOB OVERVIEW

Lake City Plating is seeking an experienced independent contractor to support our accounting team. Lake City Plating is a trusted leader in the metal finishing industry, known for delivering excellence to North America’s top manufacturers and distributors.
Services Overview:
As an independent contractor with LCP, you will provide essential accounting services, including:
• Identify and escalate accounts receivable (AR) concerns, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding issues. Work closely with our team to flag potential payment risks, track unresolved discrepancies and support the resolution process.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, verify transactions for accuracy, and address any discrepancies.
• Reconcile accrual accounts to ensure expenses are properly recorded for month-end close.
• Lead month-end close tasks, review financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness, and address any necessary adjustments.
• Review and resolve open vendor entries to ensure correct payment and credit application.
• Assist with accounting projects as needed, provide support and expertise to ensure successful completion.

About You:
We are seeking an independent contractor who brings the following qualifications and skills:
• Accrual Accounting Expertise: Proven experience in accrual-based accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry. Must have a strong understanding of general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and the timing of revenue and expense recognition under accrual accounting principles.
• Experience with bank, credit card, and accrual reconciliations: must have experience reconciling accounts and the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of accounting software, (experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred) and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
• Organizational Skills: Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and maintain effective communication with the Controller and other teaUpgrade to see actual infombers.
• Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work remotely and autonomously while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work without direct supervision.
• Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality regarding company financial data and proprietary information.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Proactively identify discrepancies and issues within financial reports and offer solutions for resolution.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required to effectively collaborate with the LCP team, document findings, and escalate issues as needed.
• Phishing and Cybersecurity Awareness: Awareness of cybersecurity best practices, including recognizing phishing attempts and handling sensitive information securely. Contractors must follow LCP’s data protection protocols, utilize strong passwords, and avoid clicking on suspicious links or attachments.
This contractor role is available through 2025, with the potential for extension based on business needs and service quality provided. The services provided will be paid for on a weekly basis.
