### **Job Summary:**

The Accounting Assistant will support the finance department by performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. This role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, timely transaction processing, and adherence to financial policies and procedures.

### **Key Responsibilities:**

### **1. Financial Transactions**

- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization of invoices, receipts, and payments.

### **2. Reconciliation and Reporting**

- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Generate financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

### **3. Auditing and Compliance**

- Help prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.

### **4. Data Management**

- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both digital and physical.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting data.

### **5. Communication and Collaboration**

- Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial issues or discrepancies.
- Communicate with vendors and clients regarding payments and invoices.

### **6. Miscellaneous Tasks**

- Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses.

### **Qualifications:**

### **Education and Experience:**

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles (preferred).

### **Skills and Competencies:**

- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Xero or any accounting software
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
