JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with expertise in Danish Accounting standards to join our growing Onboarding Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in welcoming new customers and ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to our services. You will be responsible for the initial accounting tasks for new customers, including onboarding, backlog bookkeeping, and reconciliation. This role requires a strong review engagement mindset, where identifying and correcting errors and deficiencies is paramount.
Responsibilities:
Customer Onboarding:
- Welcome new customers and conduct thorough reviews of their current accounting situations, including an assessment of their accounting systems and processes.
Backlog Bookkeeping:
- Accurately and efficiently handle backlog bookkeeping for new customers, depending on the volume of work.
Accounting Control:
- Conduct regular reviews of existing bookkeeping to identify and correct any errors or deficiencies.
- This requires spotting what went wrong, what’s missing, and how to correct them.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all accounting records.
Document Management:
- Gather and organize all necessary supporting documentation for accounting transactions.
- Ensure proper filing and storage of all accounting documents.
Tax Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile the customer's tax account with E-income to ensure all figures are accurate and consistent.
Year-End Accounting:
- Prepare and finalize accounts for the end of the year, including financial statements and tax returns.
Customer Handover:
Successfully transition customer accounts to the operations team upon completion of initial bookkeeping and reconciliation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in accounting, with specific expertise in Danish accounting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Danish tax laws, VAT, payroll processes, and statutory financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting tools, including at least one of the following: e-conomic, Dinero, Billy, and Uniconta.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Proficiency in English.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Danish corporate tax processes.
- Ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities.
- Has auditing experience or good eye for spotting misstatements or missing invoices, entries, and items.
