Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced International Corporate Accountant for a part-time role managing comprehensive bookkeeping, payroll, and financial operations across our global entities. This hands-on position requires expertise in day-to-day bookkeeping, multi-jurisdictional payroll processing, tax regulations, and international accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain detailed bookkeeping records for all corporate entities, including daily transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
Process and manage monthly payroll across all jurisdictions, including tax calculations, deductions, and compliance with local labor laws
Handle all payroll-related documentation, reporting, and year-end requirements in each jurisdiction
Handle tax planning, preparation, and filing in accordance with respective country regulations:
Canada
United States
Australia
United Kingdom
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for all entities
Manage international fund transfers and currency exchange operations
Implement and maintain internal controls across all jurisdictions
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed
Required Qualifications and Licenses
Professional Designations & Registrations:
United States:
CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or Tax Attorney qualification
Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
Must be authorized to represent clients before the IRS
Canada:
CPA (CPA Canada) certification
Registration with CRA as a tax preparer
United Kingdom:
Registration with HMRC as an agent
Professional qualification from recognized body (ACCA, ICAEW, or CIMA)
Australia:
Registration with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB)
Professional qualification (CA ANZ or CPA Australia)
BAS Agent registration for GST/BAS services
Additional Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping and international accounting
Proven expertise in multi-jurisdictional payroll processing and compliance
Strong knowledge of accounting standards: IFRS, US GAAP, and local reporting requirements
Proficiency in major accounting and payroll software systems
Advanced skills in QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping software
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with international business operations
Knowledge of foreign exchange risk management
Additional certifications in international taxation
Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
Compensation
Part-time position: 8-10 hours per week for regular bookkeeping and payroll duties
Additional base pay for annual tax preparation and filing for each entity (Canada, USA, Australia, and UK)
Independent contractor position
Location & Work Requirements
Fully remote position
Must hold valid professional licenses/registrations as specified in the Required Qualifications section to handle tax and accounting work in all four jurisdictions (Canada, USA, Australia, and UK)
Note: Physical location/work visa status is flexible as this is a remote contractor position. The key requirement is holding the necessary professional licenses and registrations to legally practice accounting and tax services in all specified countries.
