Profile Description
My skills include English communication, Shopify operation, quality email responses (for customer support), writing, proofreading/editing, handling social media, data entry using Microsoft Office and Google applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), and teaching English to nonnative speakers. I have a solid background in using different writing style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style and Oxford Style Manual, as well as in using Adobe Photoshop and Canva (for doing graphic designs).
In addition to that, I have a background in Wordpress and Blogspot. I have a solid experience of over three years in proofreading and email or back-office accounts. In line with these experiences, I have received training for client-specific tools, such as TouchCommerce, Salesforce, Backerkit, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Trello, and Slack to name a few. Fluency in speaking the English language is also one of my abilities because ever since I learned to speak the language, I can confidently say that I am good at it, with a near-native accent and proper enunciation.
I recently worked as a VA for a client who has a Shopify store. The tasks were to answer customer issues or concerns (via Upgrade to see actual info or Facebook, and recently Gorgias), upload products and write unique product descriptions in the Shopify store, make Facebook posts for engagement, and other VA tasks requested by the client. Before this job, I worked as a content writer/editor for a website-developing company, and prior to that, I worked as a virtual assistant for a client’s start-up business, doing mostly social media work. I also worked as a copy editor for a publishing company based in the United States. The main task of job was to edit manuscripts (textbooks, novels, etc.) that were submitted by the authors. In line with this task, I had to make sure that everything was free from errors in grammar, punctuation, and other mistakes before they get published. Moreover, I also worked as an academic essay editor for a company affiliated with a South Korean academy. The work involved proofreading and editing the essays written by Korean students of different levels. I would say it was a tough job as English is not really their first language, but it was fun as I got to learn more and update my knowledge in English every day. Aside from all these, I also worked in a BPO (or contact center) setting prior to all my other experiences, which gave me the learning and experience on how to give satisfactory customer service experience.
As with writing, I have been doing it since I was a student. I find a different achievement whenever I finish writing something—be it an article, a blog, a poem, or a short story. Also, I have my blog posts published online through Wordpress and Blogspot.
