Inventory. Participate in the monthly inventory of finished goods and raw materials to determine any shortage/overage at month-end. Perform an annual inventory of fixed assets to ensure that all recorded assets still physically exist and that missing assets are identified, investigated, and resolved.
Audit. Reviews expense reports of junior and top-level Executives. Ensure that all incurred expenses conform to company policy and procedures.
Petty Cash. Monthly review of petty cash transactions to ensure validity and correctness of disbursement of funds. Reviews IOU’s for prompt action and collection of accountability.
Bank reconciliation. Ensures that book balances are tied up with the bank
balances. Prepares adjustments for any discrepancies in entries.
Other tasks include accruals of expenses for landline and mobile phone
usage, and keeping an up-to-date record of other income/expense that arises
from non-invoiced accounts. Maintain a record of payments for professional fees
of outside support i.e. Lawyers, medical doctors, and business consultants. Ensure
that all month-end close activities are performed in an accurate and timely
manner.
